A German multinational, the largest pharmaceutical company in the world with more than 120 years of operations in India, is committed to improving lives.
Through its initiative, ‘Better Life Farming,’ the company aims to improve livelihoods of smallholder farmers. It decided to launch a new flood-resistant rice variety with higher nutritional value in India.
Cropin digitized and geotagged plots for the client and conducted area auditing of the plots. It created a dashboard for plot-level indices on crop health and water stress. Cropin also provided reliable yield estimates and risk analysis for the client. The farmers benefited from farming advisories that helped data-driven decision-making, which led to increased productivity and higher incomes. The client plans to scale up the Water Stress model for the pan-India project.
